International Journal of Pedagogical Research

An International, Interdisciplinary and Peer-Reviewed Research Journal Dedicated to Teacher Education, Pedagogy and Future-Oriented Teaching & Learning

PRIMARY JOURNAL IDENTITY

Teacher Education at the Core

Teacher Education International Journal of Pedagogical Research is an international, interdisciplinary and peer-reviewed research journal dedicated primarily to advancing scholarship in teacher education, with pedagogical research and emerging approaches to teaching and learning forming closely connected dimensions of its scholarly identity.

The journal places the preparation, professional growth, competence, reflective practice and continuing development of teachers at the centre of its academic mission. It recognises teachers as critical agents in educational transformation and encourages research that strengthens teacher preparation programmes, professional learning, classroom practice and the relationship between teachers, learners, curriculum, technology and society.

While TEIJPR welcomes research in educational technology, artificial intelligence, psychology, policy, curriculum, assessment and related fields, such scholarship is particularly encouraged when it contributes meaningfully to the understanding or advancement of teacher education, pedagogical practice or future-oriented teaching and learning.

01   SCHOLARLY PURPOSE

Advancing Teacher Education and Pedagogical Scholarship

TEIJPR provides a scholarly platform for researchers, teacher educators, teachers, educational practitioners, policymakers and scholars to critically examine contemporary issues, innovations, theories, practices and research evidence relating to education, particularly those that influence teacher preparation, teacher development and pedagogical practice.

The journal seeks to promote rigorous inquiry into how teachers are prepared, supported and developed throughout their professional careers and how research-based pedagogical knowledge can contribute to more meaningful, inclusive, ethical and effective teaching and learning.

TEIJPR encourages research that contributes not only to academic knowledge but also to the improvement of teacher education programmes, classroom practice, professional development, educational decision-making and the future preparation of teachers for changing educational environments.

SPECIAL SCHOLARLY FOCUS

Connecting Teacher Preparation with Educational Innovation

TEIJPR particularly encourages research that connects teacher preparation and professional development with innovative pedagogical practices, educational technology, artificial intelligence, inclusive education, curriculum and assessment, educational psychology, Indian Knowledge Systems, global educational developments and future-ready learning.

The journal is especially interested in scholarship that examines not merely the existence of educational innovations but their implications for teachers: how teachers understand them, how teacher educators prepare future teachers to use them, how they affect classroom pedagogy and how professional learning can support their responsible and effective implementation.

INTERDISCIPLINARY SCHOLARSHIP

Teachers, Pedagogy, Technology, Society and Culture

The journal especially welcomes interdisciplinary research that explores the intersection of teachers, pedagogy, technology, society, culture and emerging educational futures. Contemporary teaching is influenced by technological, psychological, social, cultural, ethical and policy environments, and meaningful teacher-education research may therefore benefit from appropriate interdisciplinary perspectives.

Interdisciplinary work should nevertheless retain a clear connection with the journal's central scholarly identity. The integration of multiple perspectives should contribute meaningfully to understanding teacher education, pedagogical practice, teacher professional learning or the changing future of teaching and learning.

SCOPE CLARIFICATION

Teacher Education Remains the Dominant Identity

TEIJPR is not intended to function as a general multidisciplinary education journal in which every educational topic receives equal emphasis. Its defining scholarly identity remains Teacher Education, supported by research in pedagogy and future-oriented approaches to teaching and learning.

Research concerning artificial intelligence, digital education, educational psychology, higher education, policy, assessment, curriculum or other related fields is particularly appropriate when it demonstrates a clear connection with teachers, teacher educators, teaching practice, teacher preparation, professional development or pedagogical transformation.

This focus allows the journal to engage with a wide range of contemporary educational developments while maintaining a distinctive and coherent academic profile centred on the preparation and continuing development of teachers.

FUTURE-ORIENTED SCHOLARSHIP

Preparing Teachers for Educational Futures

TEIJPR recognises that future teachers will work in educational environments increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence, digital technologies, flexible learning systems, changing learner expectations, new forms of assessment, global connectivity and evolving professional responsibilities.

The journal therefore encourages forward-looking scholarship that examines how teacher-education institutions, teacher educators and professional-development systems can prepare teachers to respond critically, ethically and effectively to emerging educational possibilities and challenges.

WHO MAY CONTRIBUTE?

A Scholarly Community Focused on Teaching and Teacher Development

The journal welcomes rigorous scholarly contributions from individuals and groups engaged in research, teaching, teacher preparation, professional education, educational policy and related areas of academic inquiry.
